Creative Visualization Techniques

Easy Tips to Visualize Better
Creative visualization is a powerful method that we can use to achieve our goals,
overcome our fears, and get new ideas. It takes advantage of our mind’s
power to imagine. What we visualize in our mind is the same as
seeing it through our eyes. Our mind believes that both
images are real. Picture yourself being successful
or beating your fears and the more your
mind will believe it’s capable.
Start to Visualize
Creative visualization is a technique that everyone can get better at. You can start
training your imagination muscles right now. Look at everything in front
of you and study the image. Now close your eyes and try creating
that same image in your mind. Open your eyes and look
around you once more. Close your eyes, imagine
it again but better this time. Repeat this
until you feel comfortable.
Another technique to help you visualize better is using your five senses. This makes
your imagining experience seem extremely real. First, close your eyes and
picture a banana in detail. What’s the color of the skin? Any bruises?
Now visualize that you pick it up. How does the skin feel on
your hands? Peel it and hear the skin break. Smell
the fresh banana through your nose. Bite it
and taste it on your tongue.
When to Visualize
Visualizing is best when you’re at your best. Make sure you feel awake and energized.
It’s harder to visualize when you feel tired. When your mind is focused, the
visualizations you create will be much more detailed. You will be
able to concentrate on the pictures for longer without
other thoughts jumping in your mind. Eating the
right foods will help you feel much more
energized and your mind focused.
I take time out to visualize in the morning after my workouts. This is the point where
my thinking is the clearest. I take a deep breath through my nose for about
five seconds, hold it in for five, and let it out through my mouth for
five seconds. This gets my body to relax and my mind to
focus. I picture accomplishing my goals for the
day. Then I picture how today will help
me get to the future I want.
Where to Visualize
Anywhere is a great place to visualize as long as you can concentrate. A quiet space
in your home is a good spot. Some people like visualizing in their work office
or outdoors. Anywhere is fine as long as you are comfortable. Sitting
up against a wall is perfect because it keeps the spine straight
and helps you focus better. At times relaxing music
of nature can help you focus better. And
remember, no distractions!
