There isn’t a step by step process to building a positive attitude. The process is
different for each person. However, there are areas of your life you can
improve to build a positive attitude. This involves analyzing
yourself , finding your life purpose, setting goals, and
building a positive mindset. Positive attitude
comes from within you. It indicates
your feeling towards life.
Get to Know Yourself
I strongly recommend starting here to build a positive attitude. When you get to
know yourself better, your self confidence grows. Confidence is purely
a state of mind. It’s a measure of how sure you are of yourself
and your decisions. This will build a positive image
of yourself. Lack confidence and you’ll fall
victim to insecurity, indecisiveness,
and negative thinking.
Start this exercise by thinking of yourself from a third party perspective. Become
your own best friend. I used best friend since it’s somebody you know
inside and out. You love them, trust them, and have faith in what
they do. As you develop these feelings towards yourself,
your self confidence will increase. Build a deeper
relationship with yourself. Ask these Life
Purpose Finding Questions
Set Goals
Set goals for yourself and it will give you a 1000 more reasons to build a positive
attitude. A life without goals is a life without purpose. Your goals can be
short term or long term. Either one gives you something to look
forward to each day. What’s the purpose of building a
positive attitude if you don’t care where
your life is headed? Set a goal to
live a positive life.
Use Positive Words
Be aware of the words you use! It’s a powerful reflection of your thinking style.
Negative attitude focuses mainly on the problem while a positive attitude
focuses on solving the problem. Carefully choose your words so
you talk about what you want instead of what you don’t.
I’ve included a few examples to give you an
idea of changing negative words
to positive. Start now!
Don’t cross the busy street without looking both ways first! It’s so dangerous –>
Cross the busy street only after looking both ways first. It will be safer.
It’s hard to concentrate with you watching the T.V. so loud –>
Please turn the T.V. down so I can concentrate better.
I’m spending too much money eating out –>
I’ll save money by eating at home.
It’s pretty simple huh?
Imagine
To build a positive attitude, imagine yourself with a positive attitude. Picture
what your life will be like, how you’ll react to situations that come up,
and how good you’ll feel! Be as detailed as you can. Visualize
waking up in the morning and being grateful for all
that you have. See yourself going through
the day with a smile on your face.
Feel the positive energy.
Feeling the emotions is very important when you visualize. The more clear and
detailed your visualizations are, the more real the experience will seem.
It will help you stay motivated towards your goal. You can use
this technique for any goal you have, not just building
a positive attitude. When you imagine, you
have a clear vision of why you are
doing what you’re doing.

You’re right. Knowing yourself will help you find out what you want out of life. Every minute you live not knowing where you’re headed is a minute that you waste. Time isn’t something we own, it’s only something we use.

great article. what you said reminds me of this quote i know by harvey mackay.
“Time is free, but it’s priceless. You can’t own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it you can never get it back.”
