I appreciate the effort to put forward these tips. But this is really circular reasoning. Essentially you are saying "If you aren't a people person, then simply be a people person!"

For example, how is it possible to make yourself interested in people if you aren't interested in them to start with? I don't WANT to know about their backgrounds, hobbies, siblings. I find most people uninteresting. After talking with them for a long time... I still find most of them uninteresting. It's just the way I am.

Hey Catrien, your comments are always nice to read. Taking genuine interest in people helps build greater connections. After all, we all are human and work with emotions.

Faizal, thank you, this post felt very happy to me - bouncing and light - so a very welcome start to my day here in Japan (Mount Fuji is very quiet right now, no live-fire artillery today). I especially like your point about taking interest in people. Taking interest means we are paying attention, and that means we are being aware. Being aware means we are engaged and connected with our inner selves, as well as what we encounter around us. That somehow shifts the focus away from our selfish tendencies and opens the doorway to welcoming our situations and interactions with a more genuine mind. I always appreciate the insights you post on your blog - Catrien Ross.
