can motivate them. Motivation triggers can be social acceptance,
ego driven, their dreams and goals, or even financially
related. The key is that everyone’s motivation is
unique. Once you find it, then you are able
to use it to move people to action.
Believe in People
All people have fears. Be the one to help them run towards their fears at full
speed. Believing in people helps them gain confidence which leads to
motivation. People feel comfortable facing their fears when
there is support from another person. Motivate people
by showing them you know they can do it. Help
them take the first steps and watch them
start running on their own soon.
Use The Word “Because”
The word “because” is one of the most powerful ways to motivate people. The
following study at a print store illustrates it’s usefulness. A person asked
the customers using copy machines, “Can I use the copier?” 60%
of people responded with a yes. Then the question was
switched to, “Can I use the copier because I’m
in a rush?”. Remarkably, 94% of people
this time responded with a yes.
Make People Feel Important
We all love getting praised for our efforts. It always motivates us to do more.
If you want to seriously motivate people, start appreciating them and
recognize their achievements. It doesn’t matter how little the
achievement is. Say “good job” or “nice work”. As long as
there is some type of appreciation, people know
their efforts are important. These little
comments get people motivated.
Lead by Example
A simple and effective way to motivate people is to lead by example. If
people see you do it, they will be motivated to do it too. It’s your
energy rubbing off on them. When you’re around negative
people, doesn’t it make you a little negative too? Of
course! It’s human nature. Be motivated and
ready to take action. The people around
you will follow and do the same.

Be the inspiration that people are looking for. That’s the best way to get
people motivated. Lead by example, make people feel important,
