Be Truly Happy

I was just browsing through the internet when I came across the  the 95 yard
soccer goal. Now I’m not a huge fan of soccer but when amazing things
happen anywhere, I must see it. The goal was scored by Ryan
Rosenbaum and guess what. That was the first goal of
his career! I’ve seen David Beckham score a
goal from the middle of the field, but
95 yards is out of this world!

What Can We Learn

There are a number of things we can take away from watching this video.
The first lesson is just go for it. What are the chances of somebody
making a goal from 95 yards ? It’s slim to none. But did that
stop Ryan from attempting to score? Of course not. He
went for it and he was rewarded handsomely.
Just consider your risk vs. reward
before you move forward.

The second lesson is you never know when you’ll get lucky. This is
because there’s a chance that Ryan didn’t even mean to score a goal
from 95 yards out. If you watch the video, you’ll see that the
white team is attacking heavily. Maybe Ryan was just
trying to get the ball out of their territory
and break up their attack. Not only
did he do that, he scored.

So the point is be open to receive. Don’t pass up opportunities because
you never know what will happen. Be open minded and try
things that you haven’t done before. Be aware of what the
outcomes may be but don’t focus too much of your
attention on that. Instead focus on your
intention. Think about what you
want the outcome to be.

There’s a really great positive motivational quote by Theodore Roosevelt
where he states, “What we need is more people who specialize in
the impossible.” You see, people might have thought a 95
yard goal was impossible, but Ryan did it. I’m sure
people from a 100 years ago thought it was
impossible to have everything we
have today. Dare to dream.
