I recently became aware of how much faith I’ve lost in myself and my abilities. Trust me, I didn’t do this purposely but over time bad experiences and many failures got trapped in my mind. This doesn’t worry me though because I know that a simple “reprogramming” of my brain will get me back on track.
Now, I still have faith in myself but that faith isn’t as intense as it was 3 or 4 years ago. It was what Napoleon Hill would describe as a “burning desire” where nothing can stop you. I knew in my mind I can do whatever I want and everyone that put me down only spoke from their own negative experiences.
I believe this decline in faith set in from many failures (subconsciously). I started an online travel business which failed. Joined an insurance company that I lost interest in. Lost $3,000 of my dad’s money in less than 30 seconds day trading ($10,000 total in a week) and the list goes on.
From those failures and bad experiences, the first thing I learned is…
Keep Going
No matter what, keep your eyes on the prize and keep going. You see, I think the only thing that stops us from getting far in life is ourselves.
Instead of defeat keeping you down, look in the mirror and assure yourself that you WILL succeed. Pick yourself back up and keep going. The harder it is, the more accomplished you’ll feel.
“Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go.” -William Feather
See it in your mind first
It’s hard to get to where you want without being able to see it first. Visualize the end result as detailed as possible. Our minds think in pictures so feed it images.
Visualizing helps you believe in yourself because it lets your mind experience the end results as if you’ve already done it. Our minds thinks every image it sees is real, whether in real life or just in the imagination. So take advantage of that today!
Positive affirmations
When you lack faith, negative thoughts start coming in your mind. “I can’t”…”What’s the use”…”It’s hard”. All these thoughts need to be pushed aside. Be conscious and when bad thoughts arise, replace it with positive thoughts.
Only one thought can be in our mind at once, so it’s up to us to make sure its a positive thought.
Find support
Find people to work with that are experienced, knowledgeable, and support your dream. When you have a mentor like this, it’s easier to believe because there’s somebody working with you that’s already been there and done that. A positive environment creates positive results.
Lacking faith leaves your mind open to ideas from negative people. We become more vulnerable to their negative put-downs and start actually believing them.

Hi Faizal,
I like your advice buddy. I’ve been there with the day-trading too; was more successful with stocks but Forex another story!
The only thing standing between you and your desires is you.
Visualizing and meditating have done more for me than any other practice. The more frequently you see a goal the more real it becomes. Literally. Circumstances begin to conform to your mental picture with each successive visualization session.
Meditation helps me to observe my thoughts and feelings, many of which are destructive. It’s like being a movie. You begin to develop a sense of detachment to your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Like you’re watching a movie. Your Movie!

Hey Ryan, your feedback was great to read. I completely agree with how you said circumstances begin to conform to our mental picture. Our imagination is the greatest gift we have and when we use it correctly, we can create whatever we want!
